PRJ 300 screenshot
This is an image from my semester project at Digipen. The entire animation sequence is about 20 seconds long, so it's a "short" short. If the animation doesn't embarrass me too much I will post the whole thing when it's done.

Bug
We were given free reign to draw whatever we wanted to for this weeks sketchbook assignment and so I drew ikea furniture and this bug. I used corel painter and photoshop, I have recently discovered that a lot of digital artists do thier line work in corel and then color in photoshop. This is a great method considering how obviously digital photoshop makes the lines look. Corel is like butta'!

Pumpkin 2010 - grim outlook
I was working on a design of a zombie face with lots of blood but it wasnt working out very well as a pumpkin stencil. This drawing worked much better for that. The annoying part about turning a drawing into a pumkin carving stencil is that you have to thicken and connect everything so your design doesnt break off of the pumpkin when you are done. I had to use a lot of toothpicks the day after to keep the rotting pumpkin in the same shape.

The Critique
Peter showed us an artist that uses line weights to make really busy drawings read. His name is Luc Desmarchelier and he's a stud with line. I was in class thinking about how I wish I could draw like that guy and figured there was no better time than the present. It was no Luc Desmarchelier, but a fun venture.

Plein Air painting on the Sammamish
For Art 230 weve hit the ground running, im happy to really be diving into a medium that I really want to feel confident with. The day started overcast, then got sunny for about an hour and then went back to being cloudy. The result really made it confuding for me to choose colors and values. Im really looking forward to doing more of this kind of thing.

Cold and Flu Season
Here is the finished short, someone pointed out to me that its really more of a music video. I think they might be right. Enjoy, and remember that we have no formal training in sound design, just instincts. This was shot with my Canon Digital still camera and edited in Adobe Premiere, sweet huh? If heavy metal or images of fake blood and gore bother you, then make sure to wear headphones and crank up the volume.
