Look and Feel

This is a photoshop pre visualization of the lighting for the scene. A target for the end result.

Light Art

Turns out you can make cool images with a flash a couple of glow sticks and a long exposure. I had the pleasure of learning about and participating in this light art session at Marymoor park. I did the drums, the blue lightning and the whole picture with the blood and sword.

Shady Shores Timeshare

I changed my mind about the direction I wanted to go with my hilltop trailer, Ive moved it out of the bog and taken it oceanside. I made this look and feel projection in photoshop. Think of it as The Hunter S Thompson retreat.

Vector Sketches

Im trying to tech myself the pen tool in Photoshop for making vector images. Ive always found the tool to be prohibitive and lame. I think the problem wasn't the pen tool.

Zombie Nation

I really want to illustrate a comic book cover someday for a major series. In the meantime I'm going to pretend. Next I will tackle the toughest part which will be doing a pencil drawing and inking.

House on the Hill

I've started thinking about my next CG scene, I have an idea for an old trailer on a hill. Rusty chrome, tall dead grass the usual.

Textures

At this point I am feeling pretty confident that my attic scene will accurately reflect my initial concept. There is still some fine tuning to be done to some of the textures but the real work at this point will be creating afternoon sunlight to illuminate the space.

Hall of mirrors

There is a saying about not throwing stones when you live in a glass house. This post has very little to do with that. One image is of an ambient occlusion pass, and the other is just default textures soon to be replaced with wood, wallpaper, leather and so on. If I was the vain owner of this home then maybe I would build it out of mirrors

Almost Attic

This should look really familiar, the attic is nearly finished model wise. I had a good photo of an antique robot that I wanted to include in the scene but I'm not sure that it would look very cohesive.

Primitive modeling

If you refer to back to a couple of posts ago you will see the line drawing concept that I did for my attic interior. Here is the first primitive models for that scene. The next step is to complete the rest of the models including fixing the shape of the room and start unwrapping the objects.
