Bug

We were given free reign to draw whatever we wanted to for this weeks sketchbook assignment and so I drew ikea furniture and this bug. I used corel painter and photoshop, I have recently discovered that a lot of digital artists do thier line work in corel and then color in photoshop. This is a great method considering how obviously digital photoshop makes the lines look. Corel is like butta'!

Frost Glacier Freeze

This is hands down the best sports drink, frost glacier freeze. I try to choose objects that have some sort of significance to me. I really like the paper bag, I think I might just do a paper bag next. I will probably take a better photo once this thing dries in the next one to two weeks.

Robot wars

I did this perspective robot drawing based off of some sketches I have been doing of machinery lately. Its not for homework, just my own needs. I took a lot of the design elements from an interesting looking tractor I saw on a walk that day.

My street

The assignment was to take a photo of our street and transform it into a medieval version of itself. I stretched some truths but I think you get the idea. I did the lines traditionally in ink and the colors in photoshop. I think you can see my comic book inspiration on this one.

Art 230 doughnuts

This is one of the seven paintings i'm doing for the arikha adventure guerrilla style paintings series. I'm really trying to paint more accurately and cleanly and be more bold with color choices.

Pumpkin 2010 - grim outlook

I was working on a design of a zombie face with lots of blood but it wasnt working out very well as a pumpkin stencil. This drawing worked much better for that. The annoying part about turning a drawing into a pumkin carving stencil is that you have to thicken and connect everything so your design doesnt break off of the pumpkin when you are done. I had to use a lot of toothpicks the day after to keep the rotting pumpkin in the same shape.

medieval matte painting

this is the background for my semester animation project. A lot of this is from reference that I gathered this summer in montana.
